Literary Seduction and AI

Because I've been reading a lot lately about the information value of artificial intelligence, I asked openai.com what the characteristics are of literary seduction. Through the chatbox, I received the following answer:

  1. Stylish language: It uses beautiful, descriptive, and lyrical language to seduce the reader.
  2. Emotional depth: It explores and depicts the emotions and desires of characters to touch the reader.
  3. Tension building: It builds tension through cliffhangers, plot twists, and surprising developments.
  4. Complex character development: It uses complex characters and their stories to seduce and captivate the reader.
  5. Imaginative worlds: It creates imaginative worlds and scenarios to seduce the reader.

Upon asking, I also received references for the above answer. Openai mentions that there are more references than these:

  1. "The Anatomy of Story" by John Truby
  2. "The Art of Fiction" by David Lodge
  3. "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell
  4. "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" by Thomas C. Foster

I don't know any of these books. So, I don't know if they are interesting.

But the five characteristics of literary seduction are very recognizable to me. The idea of someone writing in this way makes me envious. But what do you do as a beginner or not so gifted author who wants to develop their writing skills? Then you need advice for writing techniques. After all, writing is often about deleting and starting again, numerous times. A technical indication is then welcome. Encouraged by the information I received in response to my question about the characteristics of 'literary seduction,' I asked openai how an author can write seductively. The answer I received, I will discuss in the context of 'tension building' in my next blog.

I hope you can't wait to read this!
